So, in case this isn't the norm...

In our office we have a communal fridge. It's full of different bottles of milk. Most are labled with someone's initials, some are not. Everyone was getting on fine until... someone stuck this to the door of the fridge:

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/north-east-news/tod...

Obviously they crossed out "biscuits" and wrote "milk" and then wrote "BEWARE!!!" underneath.

Aside from this being hilarious, which are you? The person who says "some bd took some of my milk" or the person who says "I only use a tiny bit, they'll never notice"

Actually, i'll add a third person, you know who you are, the weirdo who has a funny smell about him and that ponytail that you think makes you look young. "haha, I spat in my milk when I bought it"

VOTE NOW.

Nice to know that the courts/Police are on top of crime and disorder and that this is the only thing the beaks have to deal with.

I'll sleep better now.

I am the person who doesn't drink milk from unknown open containers. Too many incidents of angry owners spitting and pissing in milk (and cordial and soda) cartons and leaving them out for milk bandits. That and a story my uncle told me about how they exposed the orange juice thief where he works at a sewage treatment plant. He said at one point he started to feel sorry for the guy and thought that maybe he should have only used a teaspoon rather than a tablespoon of raw sewage. vomithehe

You dont have to work in a diary in order to get free milk for the office!!! My previous employer had milk delivered every morning for employees to use in tea/coffee. That was an IT support company and not a diary. Used to love the wars that broke out over milk in one of other previous employers. There was always someone using someone elses milk and then there would be full scale lock downs until someone owned up. Ofcourse i made sure i was in and out of the dept before the fighting began!

I don't drink tea/coffee so thankfully I don't get involved in the whole ritual in the office. Luckily our place supplies the ingredients but sadly there's no machine to make them.

There's only a few of us at my place but there is daily banter/slagging about who's turn it is to get the round in they all protest that it's them that makes the most or they made the last round. At the end of last year I said enough is enough and I created the tea league to make life quieter in the office. It's a bit sad (very sad really) but the rules are simple, if they offer to make a brew to everyone thats in (max 5) and I'm in the office I'll note it down. If I'm not there then it doesn't count.

It's got quite competitive and they won't make a brew till I'm in the office as they won't get a point, it amuses that they are gagging for a drink but no one will make one without it counting towards the tea league. I'm on site in the morning so they'll wait till 10 for their 1st drink tomorrow.

IIRC if the company provides employees tea, coffee, milk, etc it is classed as a benefit in kind and you are supposed to pay tax on it!

Thank fk for that I couldn't cope in one of those little books all day, maybe a nice leather filofax or something but not an A5 or smaller hardback one.

Not if it provides it for all employees, apparently.

When I set up my company I created a free wine bar in the basement - wine, soft drinks, champagne, all on a help yourself basis. It was never abused and nor was it unique, many ad agencies had similar.

Tea and coffee were, of course free too (and milk), that's why I asked the question.

Good grief...will you lot step back a bit?

How much of an ahole would you have to be to let it get to the point the police are involved? Let alone the courts and media?

All this justification about nicking a biscuit would surely be resolved by a chat with the tin-owner, maybe your boss, or at the worst, HR.

Not the bloody police.
