I have tried everywhere, facebook, forces reunited ect ect, and now i am turning to all the good people at PH.

I am looking for a Joe Cowley, around 40 years old, ex royal hampshire, ex drum platoon, had a sister from Basingstoke, moved to lymington in hampshire and married, possible devorce. connections to New Zeland,

I am an ex serving member and long term friend just trying to find him, so please if you have any information on his whereabouts please get in touch as i am at a wall now, ive serched everywhere

feeling he may have moved back to Basingstoke area but not sure.

he owes me nothing, just like a brother to me, its a squaddie thing, just trying to find him, concerned and worried about him, just need to know he is ok.

Do you know anything about where his parents are? Would the army know that (next of kin information)? Other than hunting on the internet, I don't really know how you'd track somebody down.

Might be work hiring a competent Private Investigator? Then again, if you have enough info/details, internet search should prove some results.

That and getting in touch with anyone else who served with you at the same time.

I've got in touch with people after years, only to find that we have friends in common who've been in regular contact all along. Sorry if it sounds obvious but don't overlook simply asking everyone you know who could possibly know him.

Leftfield suggestion for you,I had to find someone who owed me a considerable sum of money and armed with a only a name and an old address, for the princely sum of £40 paid to my local sherrifs officers they had found them in less than 24 hours.

Jeez, small world! If its the Joe i know he hung round with my brother (nugget) as they were same regiment, then both went AWOL down to Spain on a jolly. Returned to UK and they spent 6 weeks working their way through the local girls before I think he settled and got married to a blond woman, name evades me.

Then moved from Lymington to New Milton and then from there I dont know, so sorry about that.

Given I live in Oz now shows how PH is a close knit place!
