We have hundreds of gold connectors and connector pins at work that can no longer be used as they are older than 7 years. Do any of these gold places online take items they have to strip the gold from? I have looked online, but they all seem to want jewellery etc and not electronic goods that require effort to strip.

It seems a shame to dump them!

Cooksons precious metals in Birmingham will. Google them, send off for a scrap pot and send it into them. They will see what can be got from it, and they will pay proper scrap prices, not like cash for gold.

My wifes aunt sent some stuff in there, they offered her 17 quid for it, she got it returned. When she took it into a jewellers to see what they would give for it, they offered over 300 quid. It is a tax on the stupid if you accept the amount they offer you.

I think the problem with gold on connectors is that it's vanishingly thin - almost no gold.

Get in there quickly if your going to.. My sister works in accounts there and has been told the Spanish and German departments have been closed and England is going to be closed in May.

Apparently the money in gold has dropped now.

Thanks for the info.

You are correct, the plating is microns thick, but we have a lot of them. I'll see what the Birmingham company say.
