We seem to have recieved Easter cards from the girlfiends family. Is that a common thing amoung religious types or just another step along Hallmarks plan for global domination.

Hallmark Holiday - a load of rubbish IMO - I have some quite religious friends and they don't buy into it - will not be sending any!!!

What about a "Happy Fart" or is that too brief?

Yep - we got one from the in-laws, who just love any excuse for a card. More money-spinning tosh from Hallmark and co.

As an atheist I find it a bit hypocritical giving a toss about Easter. I would like the irony of sending a "Yay, Jesus is dead!" card followed by a "Jesus' Alive!" one a few days later. Probably with a picture of Brian Blessed from Flash Gordon on it and one of those 'pull me' voice things playing the recording. That would be cool.

Another hijacked pagan festival anyway - spring fertility festival. Sensible marketing strategy from early Christians.

My mum bought me a couple of Easter cards to give to my niece & nephew, I was still questioning the idea when I was writing them out this morning. It's a load of my arse, cards are crap but my mum insists I got them as a kid, I'm not convinced

You can just see the Christian CEO getting all hot under the collar.

"Look, Jesus. We're hemorrhaging market share. This years figures are worse than last years. God is going to be PISSED with us. We brought you on board to turn this thing around. We need something BIG. We have to really show the public what our offer is. Hit me with something big!"

"Well, y'know, we're all doin' our best here, right? The whole walking on water thing, the feeding thousands with loaves and fish- that was our best shot. Y'know, what more can we do? If it keeps goin' like this when we're tryin' our hardest, we ain't coming back from the dead."

I get one every year from Mum. She's still trying to lure me back to the dark side after "coming out" as an atheist about ten years ago.

Give it a rest Mum.

For Good Friday - Happy Crucifixion Day!

For Easter Sunday - Happy Necrophiliacs Stole Our Prophets Body Day!

I can see why people would go for the ones with bunnies on instead...
