I need advice from the Pistonheads massive. That may seem a stupid thing to say but you've never been wrong yet!

Short Version:

I really really like this lady, big time! We get on very well and enjoy spending time with each other but she thinks I am too young for her (I am 26, she is 37).

If you saw us out together you would think we were the same age, she is gorgeous, intelligent and a really nice person!

I would give my car (thats how serious I am!!) to be in a relationship with her but she keeps showing the 'age' card which I have no idea how to overcome!?!

She has even said she would love to be with me but has the whole age hang-up!!

How do I get her to see that age shouldn't get in the way??

Maybe the car thing is abit over the top!?! biggrin

Dye your hair grey and buy a Micra, you will instantly appear to be older.

Sounds like she wants the fun without the commitment. You have to remember, she's probably been through that already.

I bet she is lovely and I believe you when you say you want to be with her.

But, and there's always a 'but', she is right, she's too old for you. Why not wait and find someone younger who you are more in-sync with.

After all, you are just as compatible with other women, you just haven't met them yet.

Get someone younger, regardless, she will be covered in wrinkles in a few years

Paul, you know i am always here to help a mate.
Send her round to me... she'll then be able to decide if she wants the older or younger model smile

Ask her why it matters to her.

Why does she think 11 years is too big a gap? (I agree with her btw)

Finding out her reasoning gives you somewhere to start undermining it; a woman that doesn't change her mind hasn't got one wink

I don't think the gap is that big, I am nearly that old and could see not see any issue with a 26 year old

Same here, or a 20 year old fitness instructor.

Tell her that if she wants to throw away a good thing because of 11 years, that's up to her.

Leave the ball in her court. . . . she'll come crawling back.

And I very much doubt whether most people seeing it as an issue would have a problem with a 37 year old guy being with a 26 year old.
