There are plenty of other supermarkets, all better than Tescos.

"Colin, that strange man seems to be taking photographs of his shopping trolley."

"Eyes forward, Mildred, and just keep walking past. No sudden moves."

I have never tried to take one over the boundary line. Has anyone actually done this to see what happens (apart from locking the wheel) - Sirens, horn, strobes or helicopters and riot squad.

If they are that effective then why does the river see a good share of them?

evil Would like to push one at full pelt to the line, let go and see what happens.

Neither have I yet - should just lock the wheels, you'll have to physically drag it away... Apparently some Asda stores used similar system in the past - perhaps still do...

And NCoT, for what it's worth I found your pic very amusing.

Although, I am easily amused. "Look! A plastic cup! Wheee!"

Whereas Lidl just make you put a pound in to get a trolley in the first place. Yes, it costs more to replace than a quid, but removes the opportunity from random scrotes to take one in passing.

But Lidl is too lower class to be relevant I have learned...

Yes, but there is also a line right alongside the place I try to park which is nowhere near the boundary. It sometimes activates even though you haven't touched the line causing you to lunge violently into the back of your trolley. On the positive side, it does act as a useful handbrake whilst I'm loading up the car.

The wheels just lock at the boundaries, and have to be sent away by tesco to be un-locked I heard hehe I've pushed one accidently over the border before when trying to use the cash machine.

Ah right - I know we're getting self service in July I think it is, assume similar changes will come then too!
