Is ANYONE happily married?
Discussion
Now, as young women with lots of time on our hands (we're students), my friends and I often discuss marriage, who we want to marry, when we'll get married, how we'll get married and what it will be like to be with one man forever.
Nearly every mention of a wife/OH on this site is a megative one - 'she won't let me get another car', 'she takes ages getting ready to go out', 'she won't let me go out', 'she reads my PH posts therefore I'll dump her' etc etc.
Now I know that the divorce rate is higher than ever before, but surely SOME of you must be happily married? Anyone? I just want some hope that my big wedding with cars and carriages and castles will work out well in the end...and that sometimes vows for life MEAN for life.
So, is ANYONE on here happily married/together for life?

(I think
) I am (not married but with partner and expecting child).
Bear in mind this is the internet - you always get more posts about things going wrong than you do about things being fine. Also, people exaggerate for effect.
One thing you and your friends might find interesting to debate is the clash between our evolutionary behaviour to propagate our genes (females looking for alpha male, males looking to father young with multiple females) vs our societal behaviour (monogamy and partnership for life).
I think it's foolish to think a relationship that is "perfect" in your mid-20s will stay the same for life. People change, priorities change, needs change - the relationship needs to change to take account of that too. A strong partnership can and does adapt to those changes.

Are you a character from Four Weddings and a Funeral? It's nice to hear that some people actually REALLY love their partners. And are happily married. Aww.
