Nothing to do with cars or the law for that matter but hoping someone out there is ok at maths.

Ive got two numbers.

213 and 304

can someone please tell me what the percentage of 100 split these two numbers are and how you work it out?

I think it might be 42.7% to 57.3% but am not really sure and cant remember how i even got that? it just looks about right?

I get 41.2% and 58.8% respectively.

213 + 304 = 517

213/517 = 0.411992263056093 x 100 = 41.1992263056093%

304/517 = 0.588007736943907 x 100 = 58.8007736943907%

Add the 2 numbers together (517) then divide each number by 517, then multiply by 100. Haven't got a calculator on me, but you're roughly talking 40%/60% (very roughly)!

Because 213 + 304 = 517

s0 213/517=0.41199..... (x100 to get %) = 41.2%
304/517=0.5880077.... (x100) = 58.8%

41.2+58.8=100% so correct

Edit: sod, way too slow.
Edit 2: Why SP&L

Thank fook for that, been sat here for twenty minutes!

213 divided by 304 x 100

304 divided by 213 x 100

213 + 304 divided by 100 x 213

etc etc etc

Doing my head in.

yes

The key difference - maths is about letters (Greek and Roman), arithmetic is about numbers.
