Living in a small town in Ireland, got an excellent boy of 12yrs. Went to the local Youth Service who has received massive funding from the Gov for a spanking new Youth facility plus grant money for activities. Could I get one single piece of info re: activities, timetables, supervision, what are the standards are the staff i.e training? police checked?, how are the national youth policies applied and are they enforced and by whom?
Sorry I don’t meet the Social inclusion box ticking so my son can’t take advantage of the program!
To do list:punch
1. Must physically, mentally, and S…ully abuse my child
2. Lower their self esteem
3. Pay no attention to their education, hygiene, emotional or nutritious needs
4. Hey sure I’ve missed loads.. any suggestion?
5. Ahh yeah please excuse.. learn to speak another language and adopt a differing culture.
Only then can my children take advantage of the full program offered locally for young people. Sad that my son unless he ticks the boxes is excluded, and is not welcome.
I really believed in the original concept of the policies working and living in UK within the field had some merit. (Also before anyone tries to play the race/disadvantaged card, I’m a Black /Irish Chinese, Female with a Mixed race family, single parent, an Bisexual ahh yeah lets not forget broken family raised in care before living on many a council estate Jebus could have ticked all the boxes in Haringey, man should have got a mansion) instead got myself an Ed and a Job) I helped write, Identified needs, set protocols years back an enforced, encouraged Social Inclusion working projects, aim was to encourage youth/communities and help them achieve to the best of their potential despite their social/ environmental circumstances. When did it start to become a funding opportunity that placed a lot of people in well paid jobs including my good self back in the day, but lost it’s focus How frustrated am I now with children who should be taking advantage of this local funding. Instead I’m paying nigh on 80euro a week on extra curricula per child with Tae Kwon do. Hip hop Dance/ Drama, Band,Rugby, Choir etc… what the hell I am I paying taxes 4

Unlike the UK, ticking all the minorities boxes in Ireland doesn't socially include you.

Why didn't you fit the bill?

given all the kids your child would meet at such an establishment, will be physically, mentally or both tortured in ways beyond your imagination and thoughts do you want your child there?
