And another from a few years ago.
No sympathy for either of them.

Anybody who travels the east Coast line noth of Retford knows the problems these idiots cause by stealing copper from the rail signalling kit. The service into and out of Leeds in particular used to get hit every week. It has been better of late but stories like this might just put a few more off trying.

I've often wondered what value of scrap is laying alongside the railway lines in rails that aren't being used. Not high at the moment, I believe that scrap prices are pretty low now, but there still must be a lot...louiebaby said:

The lads were set to work cutting and loading rails into an old Transit.
Now this guy was not what you might call an intellectual, neither I suspect were his mates, and they kept loading the Transit, as there was room in the back.
Then there was a loud 'crack', and the Transit snapped in half. This put a stop to their dreams of riches.
They had to whip the plates off it and head home poorer!
