I just got mine, and despite a slow and bloody start, I'm finding it way cooler than an ordinary shave. Of course it takes a little time and concentration, but overall I definitely prefer it. Sooo much control and easy to see what you are doing. Two thumbs up smile

would love one, just don't have the balls to go through with it. Plus there is a lot of upkeep with them.

Obvious error.

Start with your face untill you're comfortable with using it, and then try elsewhere if you must.

This remionds me of when i had my "pre-snip" shave. My Mrs offered to do it for me and I ended up looking like an extra from Band of Brothers.

Is that some sort of gay-teabagging film?

Exactly, as a comedian once said "nothing will tempt me to use the sharpest thing in my washbag on the wrinkliest thing on my body."

Yes. Can you return it, please?

Wow, good to see some constructive comments wink
I opted for a "half" straight razor, sourced through my barber, which has the shape and functionality of an open razor, but with disposable blades.

So effectively you are going through a lot more hassle, going to cut yourself a lot more and will end up with an inferior shave?

I've always fancied one after I read a book years ago with instructions on how to be a gentleman and shaving with a straight razor was mentioned. I like the idea of it, but haven't got round to it yet.
Sod it, I'm going on ebay right now to buy one!

I went from Mach 3 to a double edged safety razor

I hear straight razors are the daddies and I probably will try one out soon.

Do you really need to post on here to get approval for how you shave? Great, you're using a straight razor because you think it's "cool" even though as mentioned you are likely to cut yourself more. Well done.

I'm not sure "being cool" is a requirement for my shaving...

By "straight" razor, are we meaning "cut-throat" razor?
