I'll start with a couple:

1) If you drill a straight-line hole through the earth from any point to any other point it will take around 42 minutes for an object to fall though to the other side.

2) King Herod (evil arch enemy of Baby Jeebus) is buried in Lyon, France.

Ok, stupidity-flame-suit on......would an object fall all the way through or would gravity have an impact once it passed the half way part?

Would it fall through to the other side, though? Wouldn't friction mean it wouldn't go an equal distance the other side of the 'core'?

Ignoring friction and air resistance, obviously.

Surely it would only fall to the centre rather than all the way through?

Oh well...

Anothger little known fact is that I can jump to the moon, (gravity, friction, and my ability to breathe in a vacuum all being ignored!)

No you in theory you would accelerate till the centre then decelerate to the surface meaning theoretically you step in and step out, having come to a stop at the surface.

Not counting air resistance/friction, etc.

If you buy a lottery ticket on a Monday for the Wednesday evening draw, you are 100 times more likely to die before its drawn than you are to win the jackpot.

There's two that spring straight to mind:

Your foot is roughly the same length as your forearm (from your wrist to the inside of your elbow). This applies for most statures.

A pig cannot physically look up at the sky.

I had a list of some more somewhere on one of my computers - I'll try and dig them out.
