Moving in with girls - how soon is too soon!
Discussion
Now obviously you'll think this is about me. Its not really, just a general opinion on how long it took you, or what you see as about right.
A good mate of mine has know a girl or 8 months and been seeing her most of them and they are moving in together this weekend, he is worried abotu it having moved in with a girl before and it all going very wrong!
8 months isn't a long time IMO, what do you all reckon?

People have been married in a shorter time period.A good mate of mine has know a girl or 8 months and been seeing her most of them and they are moving in together this weekend, he is worried abotu it having moved in with a girl before and it all going very wrong!

Be happy for him - if it doesn't work out he can always move out.
Only he knows...
So far I have done:
I have moved in at 1 years - Went wrong
I have moved in at 7 months - Went wrong
I have moved in at 2 and a bit years - still got that one and we are still happy after 9 months.
And that is not to say that he should wait for 2 years.... its just how it happened with me.
You can be perfectly happy with someone when not living together, its when you move in that you find out if you can live together without killing each other...

Personally I would say move in whenever it suits you providing you're very sure you're in there for the long haul. There's pretty much no going back once you've made that step and I'd imagine that a break up with someone you're living with is pretty much up there with a divorce. Virtually all the people I know who cohabit are married (or planning to get married), but I know several couples who've been going out for four or five years with no intention of moving in together.
Mate of mine was seeing a girl, they split up after a couple of weeks, (she fancied some other bloke, bloke f
ked her off) my mate had a big car crash, she came back to him, they started a relationship again, within 2 months they had their own place together (rented).
He was paying 3/4 of the rent as she has a s
t job.
He's not just secured a mortgage & a loan for the deposit (dont ask).
So they can buy a place.
He's going to be paying a higher percentage of the mortgage (about 60/40).
As she won't be able to afford it.
She has no money to buy clothes & stuff atm let alone pay a mortgage.
They've been together for about 15months.
Madness if you ask me.

Me & the mrs moved in after 7 Then 16 years later we got married i still think i was rushing into things...

I moved in(ish)* after 8 months, now split up. Learned my lesson and am now going to get my own house and next one can move in, if we split up, she can fook off.
- used to stay at parents house 2 nights a week as her mate used to go over for a drink or 10 and I would have committed murder to a Police Officer if I had stayed there.

They going to live in seperate houses forever or just not realised they should break up and find someone else?
Me and my girlfriend moved in together after 8 months. She'd lived on her own for a couple of years but I was still living with my mum.
18 months down the line and we're still living together (albeit in a better house with gardens and a garage), and I don't regret the decision one bit.
It all depends on the relationship. I had doubts at first, but in hindsight I think that was because I'd never known anything other than living at home. If anything it made our relationship stronger.
