note to mods, this is not and engineering question, it belongs in the lounge smile

is it possible to buy/make one of those acoustic blaster guns that the military use? i gather it can confuse, make people see things that aren't there, and cause the recipient [who may or may not be someone i have in mind] to vomit and crap themselves.

can you buy one that works? would it work through, say a single leaf brick wall biggrin

alternatively, is it possible to break someone's hifi in a similar manner?

any help would be great, i guess you can se where i'm going with this.

Why not just stick their head in a microwave. Will have the desired effect.

Simply play Des O'Connor music, that should have the desired effect.

You can do all sorts of things with low basslines and enough amplification...

Maybe along these lines would be a simpler solution.

Get the Susan Boyle album.

Set the Hi-Fi to 'shuffle'.

Go on holiday for a week.

Take the microwave apart, connect the magnetron to a horn antenna and point it through the wall at the offending stereo.

finally, a sensible answer - what does this do exactly? i have a spare microwave, any websites i should be looking at? is there any danger of the microwaves reflecting off the brick and doing damage at my side?

Bah. Think outside the box. Nice big shaped charge, blow the wall straight through the far wall. No stereo, no tenant, and a bigger flat for you biggrin

It'll invalidate the warranty for starters.

Oil drum full of bangers and fireworks at 4am every day of the week outside his bedroom window would really piss the target off tongue out

clearly, but not what i asked. in any case, the target is a fking nutcase. he moved into the flat next door, has a criminal record, has attacked my other neighbour [old, quiet, university lecturer], attempted to defraud him, and has still managed to renew his tenency.

all i want to do is fight fire with fire, or more readily fight stty DnB/hip-hop with acoustic energy. pain/death or broken hifi, either is good.

Uses a dish rather than a horn but it's the same idea.

DO NOT stand in front of it. Its effect on the fluid inside your eyes will be similar to the effect on egg white.

Reflections off the wall are unlikely to be a problem unless there is foil in the walls for insulation purposes.

Effect: will zap stereo at sufficiently close range. Will make it go BWAAAARRRRRGGHHH at considerably longer range.
