Thinking of going over to Islam - but what is the Deal with
Discussion
I agree with their economic policies, and treating women like crap.
Not in favour of all women wearing those yashmak things. Only the hideous beasts.
The hotties should be obliged to wear tight, revealing clothes.
But overall, yeah, I would be a muslim, no problem.
Just as long as we keep booze, bacon and slags.

As a religion / way of life its actually not bad. Focuses on key values and supposed to be a pillar for your way of behaviour, not something that you use to absolve yourself every few years. That said, for every positive, there has to be a negative - so banning a couple of things seems a fair compromise though.
As for the head scarf, treatment of women and a couple of other things - that's only for certain types. Moderate muslim nations are actually very good and certainly don't have the restrictions that you might expect.
The lack of alcohol might be a pain, but think of the money we would / could save by not having A&E and the Police stations jammed full of pissed up teens every weekend?

the giving a certain amount to charity pillar is a good idea i think.
Erm, not really. Drinking alcohol and eating pork is strictly haram in Islam. You can't pick and choose which parts of the religion to follow, it's all or nothing.just been down the pub with him and no doubt well have a fry up for breakie, there are strict Muslims and there are normal ones. 2 different breeds

I don't eat bacon, or drink...But I'm not currently a practising muslim either. Yet I do believe in my faith, it is part of my identity & is very much a personal thing for me rather than something I shout from the rooftops.
