I couldn't believe this load of tatt! (not that I'm claiming to be brighter than Wheelie)

...BUT... if these nasty dudes are coming to pinch our coal & gas because they have run out of their own resources, what are they running their intergalactic space ship on to get here in the first place?!?

Perfectly sensible viewpoint, really. Taking our own history into account, 'visitors' do strip resources, and take advantage of the people they have invaded.

Makes sense. But there is a section of the interweb that thinks they are already here....... wibble.

What makes you think they will be after coal and gas?

What resources does ET want?

If we ever do meet aliens, they will most likely be so far ahead of us technologicaly that it may as well be magic ffs.

so we will just be ignored by them, the same way as we generally ignore pidgeons.

if they want anything our planet has, they'll take it and wont stop to even communicate.

Ah, there is the problem. 120 volt would be big? So why are aliens looking for the AA? Maybe they think we have miniaturized them?

You think?

I can't imagine that to be honest, we would know about them or they would know about us if that were true.

I imagine they will be hundreds of millions of years behind us, single cell organisms and the like.

The Universe is about 14 billion years old and our Solar System is 4.5 billion years old. They could be seriously far advanced. Given the mind numbing distances involved, if they turned up here they would be so technologically advanced that we'd either be pets or Kentucky Fried humans.

Like some kind of space chav. Blinged up with metals we've never heard of and in a shuttle craft with a massive body kit? biggrin
