Out to dinner with friends last night something struck us. We are all early thirties, been friends from school and kept this up through university and now onto work.

None of us have children, only one of us has got married and several are still renting or flat sharing. None of us are materialistic and we all earn different amounts, just make sure that when we go out (which we do A LOT!) we go somewhere that everyone feels comfortable.

I can't imagine wanting to change this way of living. My partner and me spend a small proportion of our income on a mortgage so we have lots for holidays and doing stuff rather than a huge house to impress people. I also can't imagine why I would want to live outside of london, the country seeming nice and pretty for a daytrip, but very limited in terms of things to do.

The reason I posted is that one of my friends got called vacuous in a break up! I think it's the way most people live now but are we missing out? By the way we do make sure we go to age apprpriate places unless after a really trashy night out!

If you like how you are, does it matter if you do the same thing?

Awful, truly awful ... Is he okay?

ETA: On a sensible note, it may have been said in the heat of the moment out of spite - Basically another way of stating that he is lacking intelligence ...
