As the title really.

I am lucky enough to be going on a Palmer Sport day at Bedford in June.

Does anyone know a top country boozer with rooms to stay over for the night before?

Can't help with specific rooms, but the area around Old Warden is extremely olde worlde and likely to produce a few nice timber framed establishments serving up real ale with twigs in if that's your thing.

15 minutes from Bedford and 30 minutes tops from the autodrome. Top quality food as well!

Good shout, another 10 mins further south is Redcoats, - nice accommodation and excellent food.

The Queens head at Milton Ernest is good value. It is a 2 minute drive to the autodrome. wink

My favourite local restaurant, brilliant food and apparently very nice accommodation too. You'll really enjoy the food there.

Thanks for all the suggestions chaps. Decent beer probably ranks above decent food, if that helps. hehe

Glad to see you have your priorities right. They do a good range of beers as well though if its a Friday or Saturday they do get extremely busy in the restaurant so it may be worth looking elsewhere if its more for a booze up.

Gave me food poisoning, so bad that I missed my track day.

In that case it'd be my choice. Good food & good beer with a pleasant location! Rooms are only £55 a night too!
