Grammar help, please
Discussion
Morning, actually no sorry, afternoon all!
Could I trouble you for some grammar advice, please?
This quotation;
“The Deccas stand out by infusing their mod sounds
with a touch of Motown and Mersey...could
just as easily be described as "The Way Music Should Be"
Now the whole paragraph is obviously a quote, but the bit at the end is that classed as a quote too and so needs quotation marks (as it's being "described") or should it have apostrophes around it. I ask, because the next question is, do I then have two quotation marks at the end to close both quotes as such?
English advice much appreciated
Thanks!
Tony

Hehe thanks chaps. No no, The Deccas is the name of the band - so no apostrophe needed. The Deccas' album would have one, but not the quote above.
So, urmmm, I'm glad we've cleared that up! As Craig says - if anyone wants to order our album from PH (for £5!) just go to www.thedeccas.co.uk and say you're from PH and yup - you get a FREE WHAM BAR!!!
What's not to like. Or, to look at it another way, Wham bar for a fiver with a free album!

Any particular reason why "The Way Music Should Be" uses capital letters? If it's not the title of an album or something then surely the quote should be: said:
"The Deccas stand out by infusing their mod sounds with a touch of Motown and Mersey...could just as easily be described as 'the way music should be'."
Depending on the context, there should perhaps be a period before the final quote mark.

Ahh - that makes sense.
It looks as though the "The Way Music Should Be" is italicised on those flyers, which suggests it's the title of something, in which case the capitalisation is understandable.
It is italicized but I'm not sure it should be. Its not the title of the album or anything, it's just a title that the quotee believes we should be. Does that make sense? It looks as though the "The Way Music Should Be" is italicised on those flyers, which suggests it's the title of something, in which case the capitalisation is understandable.
Sorry for the specifics, but this one puzzled me and so wanted to make sure it's right
