What kind of customer are you?
Discussion
Pretty easy, usually I have decided what I want via PH/general internet reviews before I get there so its a matter of walking in and paying for it.
MOST shops these days are filled with staff that don't know s
t about what they're selling anyway, and usually they are far overpriced too, its rare I'll purchase from a shop for the above reasons. But if I do I am an easy and polite customer and do apreciate someone being helpful.

But if I do I am an easy and polite customer and do apreciate someone being helpful. I always go in expecting good, simple service. I steer clear of places that have 'wronged' me more than once. Mistakes happen, but should only happen once.
I make sure I'm extremely clear about what I want, usually having done lots of research if it is a big ticket item etc...
..and living in Dubai that means I know far more than the shop 'assistant'. I don't blame them - they're paid next to nothing and the shop owners never give them any decent training - but they can still do their best help me out.
Worst thing in Dubai is a complete disregard for expectation management. You will order something (which you ask them to repeat back 3 times to make sure they understood - you're not being condesending, it just helps the process as English is not their mother tongue and neither Tagalog or Hindi are mine) and they will tell you it will ready next week, for example. You know it won't be so you ask again. 'Next week, siiiir'.
Then it turns up 3 weeks later with you having 2 weeks of getting wound up. It's an attitude thing - they simply tell you what they think you want to hear.

Um, that sounds like about half the people I deal with here...Then it turns up 3 weeks later with you having 2 weeks of getting wound up. It's an attitude thing - they simply tell you what they think you want to here.
