As per the title, I have a spare twelve bore shotgun that sits in the safe and does nothing. I will put an advert up at my local clubs but has anyone sold online successfully?

Sell it through your local gun shop, I'd rather that than risk it online to be honest.

What would be your reservation about selling online? Have there been any horror stories where it all went wrong?

Thanks for the other recommendations guys.

You got issues with MILs too!

Don't you need a licence for a shotgun?

I've sold guns via Gun trader there is no need for it to be dodgy at all - same as selling via a gun club really.

The buyer came to my farm (or meet at the gun club) to try it and bought it.

A 5 min chat on the phone and the questions they ask soon tells it that they are legit.

Criminals really don't want to meet face to face.

It's just the piss about filling in forms and the risk that someone has a forged Cert, (not exactly hard to do, my old scanner and photo printer turned out a good copy of mine on heavy paper) then you get done. Leave that risk for the gunshop.

;-) so the answer to my question is yes!

Do you use the gun for hunting or are you a collector?

Gun sites are all banned at work, so I can't shop for toys frown

I need a 20bore over and under for female companions when they come along shooting. Recommendations for something that won't break the bank, nor look like a cheap Chinese piece of rubbish?

My "daily" gun is a SIlver Pigeon III, so nothing too fancy, but decent looking and works

I am quite keen to get into hunting; would be fun.

How easy is it to get into? Are there any requirements... never thought about it before...

My brother has a Rizzini (sp) 20 gauge over and under which would seem to fit the bill well. Nice and light and you can change the barrels for 12ers if you need.

I shoot clay pigeon and also have access to a large farm where I shoot wood pigeon and rabbit.

I am not a collector, this gun just doesn't get used anymore so I thought I'd get rid of it. Like Harry I have a Beretta Silver Pigeon that I use.

Really? And he's selling?

Feel free to PM me pics, spec, price etc if he is, please!
