I would like to know what other people's daughters aged 2-3 like to play with. We seem to have a huge array of stuff but mu daughter being the middle child would really like something for herself- well I think so.

Drum
Trumpet
Cymbal
Whistle
Recorder

Of all of those, the cymbal is the loudest
Recorder the most annoying long term

Solution: buy all of them...

My daughter turned two last weekend and is currently mad on all things Peppa Pig.

The one toy she keeps coming back to is a wooden box with Daddy, Mummy and Baby bear cut-outs in the lid, and in the box are a series of wooden shapes painted to look like different heads, tops and trousers - 6 for each bear, from memory. She loves dressing up the bears and then changing them into their pyjamas when it's time for bed.

EDIT: A quick Google yields a link:

Whatever you buy, it'll probably be the box it comes in that gets the most attention biggrin

I got my nephew a 2,000 Watt light bulb. He was confused at first, but when I turned it on for him, you should have seen his little face light up!

Sylvanian Families - my daughter loves them. I think they are hateful, dreadful things, but there you go.

This is one of my two year old daughter's favourites at the moment. It's a car. It's Peppa Pig. Everyone wins.

Nothing.

No point having birthdays for the under 5s - they'll never have any recollection of them.

Save yourself a few bob by not mentioning it.

I really didn't want to type it, but my two year niece really loves her toy kitchen (clearly doesn't take after her mother)

But she also loves dressing up as Snow White
