Ordering from a company that is in liquidation?
Discussion
A couple of weeks ago my dad ordered a home cinema kit online, the money has been taken from his bank (paid by debit card) and after not receiving his tracking number as stated on the website, started do to a bit of digging.
It turns out the company in question is in liquidation (info from Companies House site.) and other google sources seem to suggest this site is a lithuanian scam in action.
Other than popping down and seeing if the premises are occupied (can't find any telephone number) what can we possibly do?
They have ignored several emails, although they did respond before the order was placed.

Can't say I've heard of them but thats a 2 minute diversion for me on the way home if you wanted me to take a look and see if they are still there.
If you would be as kind, that would be great.
I have heard of them though, they were doing cheap sofas a while back. Probably with that dodgy coating on them!

As for the Chargeback, I will mention it when I see him, Thanks.
These guys have got an ebay shop with excellent feedback specialising in refurbed goods it seems. Nearly bought a dvd player from them but got outbid. Assume it's the same people?

yeah thats right mention it when you see him no need for any urgency

He works in a noisy enviroment, so answering his phone and making a call to the bank may not be possible.

ETA - Thanks for the fleabay link.
What are the laws on trading while in liquidation?

I work for Insolvency Practitioners - do you want to PM me the details and I can look into it a little further for you.
That would be great, will send a PM straight away. Just the company details?
Can honestly say though that if it is a trading liquidation, the appointed Liquidators will have to either ensure your goods are provided or give you a refund if your payment was after the date of insolvency. They can't continue trading a company and not provide goods to customers - they will get a smacked bottom for that!
