Bit of a strange question maybe, but does anyone know of anything which can be used to relatively easily separate the sole of a shoe from the upper without doing much damage to either part?

Heat the sole up with a hair drier, which shouldn't loosen the glue. and see if you can slide a knife in between the layers?

Thanks. Have tried that already but it doesn't want to budge.

Run like feck for the last bus wearing the said shoes

never failed me when I were a lad

Cobblers seem to use a wedge shaped knfe to detach such items from the shoe

(been a bloody long time since I saw a cobbler mind you!)

[not been so long since I spoke cobblers though... frown )

The easy answer is to take it to a cobbler!
Depends on the soles and the shoes!
Some you'll be able to pretty much pull off the shoe, others you'll need glue remover, stanley knives and possibly one of the large scourer machines.
