Recommended bars in Bath
Discussion
Chaps and chapesses: I need your recommendations for bars in Bath where one might arrange to meet a young lady for a date? Should be quiet enough to talk but not entirely dead in the middle of the week.
Ta muchly!
And no, there are no prizes for the standard ph answer involving the oxo tower!

Typing from an iPod so sorry about the lack of links. If you're on facebook, search for a group titled 'i know this great little place in bath' which is set up for things like this. You might find something useful on there. Otherwise, I went to a place called Central Bar which was a nice place for a first date but quite quiet. How busy it is depends on the day though. Another option is Mini Bar which has been recommended by my housemate. Good luck

again expensive. but one of the best bars i know ( especially forgood cocktails ) Sub 13

sub13 is good (there is a small garden out the back), or just go to bar haha, in the week it will be fine, if the weather is nice its also good.
Central wine bar is ok.. but its gone downhill in the last few years. Bath is very fickle, a new place that opens up everyone swamps it till the next one, and it kind of got left behind really.
However sub13, seems to buck that trend, it also has a slightly older set 25-35 ish, As it contains a lots of the bath set that used to go out in the 90's - early 00's, as they guys that run it did.
Just stay at the top end of town really, there is also the jungle cafe along the road (if its still called that).
You cannot beat Bath in the summer, plenty to look at too

As above, sub 13 is good, 241 on coctails before 8pm too!! They only sell bottled beer there though....

Adventure cafe (3 doors down) is good, lively mix of people but perhaps not so good for a 'date'. http://www.adventurecafebar.com/
The Moon and Sixpence in the new Milsom place is pretty good too, there is a largeish outside balcony from which you can move straight into the resturant if dinner is on the cards. In fairness to the place it is pretty slick and a nice place to go.

Stick to the top end of town and you'll be fine....have a good one!

Those are good suggestions. Sub13 would be my pick, especially if it's a warm evening as the back garden is very pleasant.http://www.sub13.net/

Bar Haha? s
thole, frankly.
It was quite pleasant sitting out there on Sunday afternoon though and they've recently expanded their selection of beers to include decent bottled ales. I wouldn't head there on Friday or Saturday night as it's a favourite of weekend hen/stag parties, but other times are fine.
