The sweet, sweet taste of payback.
Discussion
Sometimes, to55ers get what they deserve. Not nearly enough, in my book – but on rare, beautiful occasions, some of us are put in the right place, at the right time, to exact a little payback on people who otherwise get away with a little bit too much.
This morning, Barbour Man came in for a little lightly toasted revenge, and I, by happy circumstance, was the fellow that got to deliver it.
I was walking out of the station, in a crowd, having left the bicycle at home today. It was very busy, and I notice a commotion up ahead. A chap is staggering to one side and barging virtually through him is a short but heavyset man, wearing a wax jacket, moving at serious speed, against the flow of the crowd. He had knocked someone aside, almost pushing them over – and motored on, regardless. Everyone was frankly too shocked to do anything; the crowd was thick and he was gone fast. Most people, who I have noticed tend to walk with their heads down, looking at the floor, were not noticing this Olympic class f**kstick until he had shoved them aside.
Luckily, I walk with my head up and watching ahead, and I was right in his way. As he bore down on me, head down, moving at a lick, I moved out of his way and stuck a foot out.
It was excellent. He went fully over, faceplanted into the pavement, spilled all the stuff he was carrying, and caused a massive commotion. Everyone just stopped – a few laughing as, like me, they had seen what he was up to.
I leaned over and, loudly, said “Terribly sorry, chap. I wasn’t looking where I was going”, and disappeared into the crowd.
Karma - what a b1tch she can be, eh?
Best. Mood. Ever.

Ould have loved to see that. Any idea why this chap was moving so quick in a crowd?
Obviously rushing for a train - and deciding that anyone in his way should be shoved aside. Despite the fact that this was London Bridge, so most of the crowd are exiting, rather than entering the station. He decided to go straight through everyone. The gods were smiling at this, and obviously stuck me right in his way. Super.

Is there some history with 'Babour man' or is this the first time you have met the chap?
No - completely random; and I didn't really meet him as such; rather tripped him up (and ran away
)... To be fair, I rarely take the train, usually cycling; but as I'm going out tonight I used the overland. And I have never seen anyone do this before. Most commuters are actually pretty courteous, with the exception of when peeople are trying to force their way onto packed comuter trains.
We see people posting so many examples of bad behaviour on PH - and many posters often say "well, karma will get them back for it one day". Thought it may be cheering to relay the fact that, occasionally, karma actually delivers.

I love that!
well done Mr F
Most people can manage just fine at busy stations but once in a while you find some tvvats who think they're a priority over everyone else.
I also just f
king hate it when you are waiting for the tube train to come along with everyone else and when it arrives, people stand either side of the opening doors to let people off. Normally that dissipation either side of the doors goes according to who was closest/earliest to begin with, but there always seems to be one or two twunts (and it's often one specific type of person that does that but I won't say wich one) who just bypass this "queue" and jump in.
Aside from it not sitting well on my moral compass, it just doesn't work from a logicall point of view either, because if we all tried to do that, it would quickly descend into who has the biggest mass and power gets to get on. It just wouldn';t work.

Oh that reminded me. I was once on a receing end of karma.
I was runnign for the lift with one person already in it. The guy looked at me as the doors were closing and decided not do anything about it.
"cock!" I said under my breath as the doors sealed and I was next to them. Not loud enough for the person to hear me I thought.
Queue me watching the lift go up to the top floor after floor 4, stopping at every floor. then descending into the lower ground and basement....

This happened to me many years ago, leaving me still on the platform, despite having been right by the doors. The guy who barged me out of the way stood there (from within the carriage behind the closed doors) looking incredibly smug with his nose pressed up against the glass (a difficult look to pull off). The only thing I could think of doing, which, I confess was incredibly immature, was to stick my well masticated chewing gum right over his face from the outside. He looked disgusted as the train pulled out. I felt marginally better.
