Rubbish, rubbish websites
Discussion
Just been flicking through this blog (my dad's in fact, but this isn't for promotion purposes, I promise!
) and it shows how utterly useless most websites are these days. Seeing as this is PH, I'll stick to automotive sites. Of course there is the sheer stupidity of AutoTrader's rebranding, which does everything it can to restrict use of the one thing you want to do - search for used cars.
Then there's the hopeless DSA and DVLA which make it difficult to find the only thing people want to do on their sites - book a driving test or tax a car!
The good thing about Pistonheads is that while it looks a bit dated, everything you want is just there.
Who do you feel are the worst offenders when it comes to having websites so full of java and flash that they're unusable?

Used that to sell an integrale to a chap in Malaysia. It may look dated however it's bloody effective, easy to navigate and free from annoying bulls

I do have an affection for the site also. It's just that it seems capable of a lot more if it was set up right. The car descriptions in the Porsche ads for instance seem to all follow a generic (and vague) format, as if the advertisers have had to slect from a limited menu?
From memory it's "free text" to write the description, but the boxes at the top are possibly limited in choice. You're right though that it's not changed in at least 6 years but maybe it's just that they got it right...it still seems to pretty lively.
