Big dogs are bloody dangerous!!!!
Discussion
Was about 3 mins into my afternoon walk with my 11 1/2 stone Rottie/Mastiff cross yesterday. We were walking down the footpath that runs between peoples back gardens, and the dog was about 20 feet behind me, sniffing and lumbering along like he normally does.
I could hear some dogs barking over the other side of the fence as my dog passed by, and then heard the latch of a gate opening. The gate opened just as my dog passed and four small dogs came running out giving it a load of mouth and started chasing mine.He bolted, and ran straight into me at god knows what speed and took my legs straight out from underneath me.I went down like a sack of s
t,with my leg in agony.
Managed to get up about 40 seconds later and all the dogs had regrouped and come back up the footpath.Got a bit of a 'sorry' from the teenager who was taking the dogs out and I limped back home to get cleaned up.
Today my thigh feels like someone has hit it with a baseball bat ( it was my dogs head that hit it ) and my knee is a bit swollen and every so often sends a sharp pain up through my leg. Going to see if I can get out on my bike in a minute because I don't fancy spending my time in all weekend.
Sometimes I wish I had bought a Jack Russell.Thats the second time he's brought me down on the deck!

It happens a lot.
A few people in the village have been knocked flying by the local Rottie, he just seems to not have a clue how to stop or swerve!
One of ours plays with a retriever and they tend to bowl into us/one of the other dogs - they just spend so much time looking at each other whilst they run along....
I guess next time if you can get a video camera you'll get £250 from You've Been Framed...

Reminds me of the time I was romping in the house with my lab, Sirus.
Usual plaful rough stuff me nipping him and swatting his front paws away to increasing sounds until we look each other in the eye and start all over again.
Cue Mrs Mo walking in and wanting to know what the bloody noise was I turn my head as does Sirius and BAM.....these buggers don't half have a heavy hard, head, cue one black eye and headache.
Oh yeah he didn't notice a thing either...

LOL @ Mojocvh and OP
I haven't had the problem with my two but their predecessor would return to me at full pelt if he was spooked, sadly he had dodgy brakes and wiped me off my feet more than once, luckily with no damage apart from to my pride. It is very difficult to look dignified flat on the floor with a large doberman still trying to cimb into your arms!! Trust me on that one

I'm convalescing at home after an operation on my hip, and I've lost count of the times that Dennis (the Menace), my 8 month old Ridgeback, has bumped into the affected leg. Imagine, if you will, something thats very very sore indeed. Well, its more sore than one of those.
Plus his tail is bloody lethal. Its like a mechanical whip sweeping the room.

Christ, reminds me when we had a yorkshire terrier as the family dog years ago. Walking it down the street when bloody thing saw a cat (minding its own business) and decided to attack it - cat had none of it, and clawed it to bits. Terrier was whining, trying to get away, got all tangled up in the lead. A few scratches to show for it in the end...

Sorry to say it,

You'll piss yourself when you think about this and he's gone! I had many a moment like this.
Infact my dad sent me a txt this morning, "Just in the woods talking to a guy marshalling a half marathon. While we weren't looking, Baxter nicked his egg and bacon sandwich. LITTLE s
t! i dragged what i could out of his mouth and he was trying to swallow as fast as he could!"

Didn't stop him eating 2 bags of bread mix. s
t EVERYWHERE. MOUNTAINS OF s
t. We ended up cutting up the carpet to get rid of the general grottiness! Good times
We got our two from the RSPCA. Decided to get two big ones as we have the space and they're hard to rehome.
Ali/Askita cross and a Neo Mastif.
We'd had em two days when the mastif ran into my Mrs cos she has the turning circle of a supertanker (the dog not the wife).
One broken arm later......

Someone reported "abuse" to school after I came in head to toe in bruises one day. Had just got a new greyhound from the rescue home and thought it would like a run. It did, but I couldnt keep up! Got dragged down the drive on the end of the bloody dog lead. He is a cracking animal though, wouldnt swop him for the world.

Our old Akita did that to me a few times, Kicking a ball about in the back garden then BAM on the deck, 12 stone furball then licking my face to get up and play
