Just mowed the lawns and was winding the extension reel back in when the plug flies up and smacks me on the cheek (face), pointy end first. Its bloody sore and will probably look like ive been punched tomorrow.

This got me thinking... I am always doing daft stuff like this and I end up in pain for no reason.

One that cost me was a compressor hose that I had just rolled up and threw onto the back of my van. Hose unravels itself and this happens..

Boss went off his tits and I had to pay for it. To make things worse I had to get it sorted myself so I rang a local windscreen place, told them back passenger door for a crew cab tipper and they came out with glass for the back door of a pannel van. Half a days work lost and a very unhappy boss.

Anyone else as clumsy as me?

PS im bloody bored.

Back in the days when I had a Scooby I used to wash it every weekend. Instead of firing it up to simply drive it out of the garage, I'd just let the handbrake off, and gently push it out - you can see where this is going hehe

Anyway, I stand at the drivers door, push back on the garage floor and get the Scooby rolling, just as I fall into it, I do so a second too late to close the door - the car drops down the slight incline, picks up speed and the door then catches the wall and rips the doorskin partically off all around the handle and lock... stopping the car.

Cost me £250 at Town End Garage Carnforth to get that fixed. Arse.

I was half awake doing an oil change on my old Z400 race quad, ended up turning the plug the wrong way and ruined the thread. I had to get it retapped.

I had a few beers and went for a mess about on the farm quad with a friend, ended up being a tit, flipped it over at 30 mph making the quad roll about 10 times and leaving me rather battered and bruised. This photo is after I sorted the handle bars, which were completely flat.

I've had a few rash moments in the past, but probably the worst one involved me punching a laptop screen, which promptly shattered necessitating a replacement. What a tool

As a teenager I had had one of those rows with my parents. Stopmed off to my bedroom - the bed was under the window.

About an hour later I had calmed down and was moving some stuff round the room including a ghetto blaster with the cable and plug on the back. It fell out of the back of the machine on the floor so I picked it up and casually threw it on the bed. It bounced, somehow picked up speed and smashed through the window landing in the front garden below.

Cue a massive escalation in the row even when I pointed out that I would gain no benefit from smashing my own betroom window in winter when I sleep right under said window.

My mum still brings it up 25 years later.

I managed to whack my head really hard twice in two days last week. As I have very short hair, this really hurts.

First time I really whacked it on a beam in my attic to the extent that I was a bit out of it for the rest of the day.

Second time, I was on my usual tight schedule in the morning. First I got something out of the fridge then bent down to get something out of a cupboard. Fridge door didn't quite shut, swung open and I stood up and headbutted it. Apart from hurting a lot, all the shelves fell out and condiment jars went all over the floor, including a pot of mustard that broke, so I then stood in broken glass barefoot.

Torque wrench at the wrong setting attaching a bicycle stem to a carbon steerer tube. Turned it into a nice £250 carbon paperweight.

Lost the end of two fingers putting them into a car engine that was running in the dark.

Not sure why I did that TBO!

I remember leaning in the front of the said car with the bonnet open and the engine was definately making a funny noise, and my hands just went in.

Ouch.

Not me but it happened to my dad's mate

He went on to roof to change some roof tiles , wan't too clever getting off the roof ladder so went back down ,got a rope asked his wife to give him a hand , went back to roof got off ladder tied rope around himself then threw it over the ridge tiles and asked his wife to tie it to something solid

All done she shouts up he didn't ask where she tied it but give it a good pull and was happy it was ok

Carried on working ,15 minutes later wife shouts I'm going shopping won't be long are you ok up there ?

Yep get me some lager while your out going to need it after being up here he asks

She drives off ,he wakes up on the floor paramedic checking him out , 1 broken arm ,1 broken leg and fractured pelvis

She'd wrapped it to the towbar on the car yikes

With a very severe hangover the morning after the night before drinking margaretas by the truckload. Came to turn the ice blender on, put left hand in blender, turned blender on. Not pretty and fortunately only severed the nerves in one finger, which still feels like it has pins and needles six years on.

Went round a roundabout in a tractor towing a set of field rolls like this:

The only problem was it was an off camber roundabout and the tractor changed up as i was turning right.
I looked behind me to see it lifting a wheel and promptly falling over, this wouldn't have been bad had i not A) just flipped them down a 30' bank into a petrol station forecourt B) Ripped the hydraulics out of the back of the tractor C) smashed up a piece of kit that at the time was the first ever in it's size.

It's funny now, but it wasn't funny then, had i been towing them with the tractor that was supposed to be using them and not the quadtrac it would have taken me with them yikes

My thread has arrived!!!

Driving £17000 worth of Ford Transit which was 3 weeks old, drove past the house I was supposed to go to, so tried reversing down the pavement.....BANG!!!! Who put that tree directly behind me. £500 worth of damage!

Trying to fault find a heating system live whilst on the phone. I'd been turning the power on and off to make adjustments to the wiring. Stuck my un-insulated screwdriver onto a live terminal.......Screamed fk infront of a customer and launched the screwdriver down the hallway, then calmly said down the phone "Gotta go mate, just electrocuted myself".

Trying to drill a boss into the side of a 4" plastic tee whilst holding it in my hand. Cue one of these chewing my hand up!

Miscalculated where I needed to drill a hole, looked outside to see if it had gone through, couldn't see it. Thats because I'd drilled through into the kitchen of the restaurant next door. Oops, no-one ever noticed!
