Engagment rings
Discussion
Has anybody used this company before?

My other half has finally found the ring she likes, in the link above, but am weary about ordering jewellery from an on-line only shop.
I believe there may be a few jewellery experts lurking on here so you opinion's are welcome.
Thanks,
Royce

Do you know how long it has taken her to find this one? We get married in two months!
We actually went to look in Tiffany's having seen one she liked on their website, the actual ring didn't look as nice in real life.
We did Hatton Garden, only two shops had something interesting in. Every shop had the same traditional rings in.
I don't care how much she spends (to a point obviously
) just that she gets something she likes.

I'll not pretend to know much about rings, but I got a lot more diamond for my money at an actual jewelers. This is in Oslo too, which isn't the cheapest place in the world.
This chap : http://www.hackettwatches.com/ is a PH'er, and helps out every one on the watch forum here.

I'd email him for some advice if I were you.
However, knowing women (I think) once she has her heart set that's it. Just nod and say yes.

At the usual ratio of two months salary, you must be skint buddy get youself a new job not hitched! Or better still get a Tiffanys box off eblag to put it in, and lean back and bathe in the love of an adoring woman!
Assuming that he leaves the clarity and colour options at the bargain basement default levels. Crank up the quality of the stones and it over trebles the price. And looks very expensive imho. humpbackmaniac said:

I bought one spontaneously while we were in Mexico and then proposed that night. Lovely experience haggling with a market seller over what was to become an engagement ring!Edited by HBLC on Tuesday 1st June 16:48

It's as cheap to have one made to your own design. Find an independent, and you're away. (Providing she has an idea of what she would like.) Someone on here is very helpful, but I can't remember who...
I'll go with that. The ring my wife now wears as her engagement ring started life as a second hand solitaire diamond ring in the local independant jeweller and was made up by their tame bloke into a traditional Tiffany type setting of his own devising. The Tiffany equivalent was six times as much as I spent.Mobile Chicane said:
At £568 for 0.11 total carat weight of low quality diamonds, they're having a laugh. You could get better value for money on the High Street.
Print off the picture and get the ring made somewhere else.
I think any bloke who is offered the opportunity get away with spending only £500 or so on an engagement ring these days should grab the opportunity with both hands.Print off the picture and get the ring made somewhere else.
When her boyfriend returned to his wife and children in Poland, the barmaid in the boozer we use at work set out quite cold bloodedly to collar a mug and get him down the aisle pronto. She made no bones about it to the regulars and there was a strong hint of getting even with the departed boyfriend. Sure enough a gang of builders on a short contract made the pub their home from home and one of them was sized up by the barmaid as hubby fodder. I'm not saying he was thick but he did seem a trifle slow but blimey he did enjoy the attention she paid him lunch times, evenings and nights. "I gave him everything!" she said and we believed her. Two weeks and the engagement ring is being flashed around the bar. A few weeks more, the contract ended and he decided he'd go back up north without her. He was sorry and all that and she could keep the ring.
He'd been gone all of two days and she was off down the road to sell it. Ten pounds she was offered. He'd bought it in Argos for thirty eight quid. He wasn't as dim as he looked.
