You know that feeling when you're driving to work / dropping the kids off at the pool / burying the evidence under the patio or even writing your weekly motoring column in the Sunday Times, and you suddenly have a great idea for a thread ?

You let it gestate in your brains for a few hours and sit back, ready to whip up a thread that'll have hundreds of replies and maximum glory.

Then you start typing, get bored and Google monkeys on Youtube instead ?

Today for me was the 'Why buy deodorant when you can buy anti perspirant deodorant for the same price'
'Aftershave thread' (I didn't want to admit I have 3 bottles on the go. I feared I would be flamed and told I should dab a sump plug behind each ear)
'I'm not greedy, I get paid enough, I don't want the extra responsibility thanks' (Got scared I'd get flamed for being lazy)
..and the potentially awesome 'Force a PH'er onto Mastermind answering questions about rattly old cars, and PH'ers will sponsor him for charity' thread.

What threads *didn't* you start ?

Picture posed by models.

In before the 'You' 'This' comments too.

I have not started a thread about discussing not starting threads with others who have not started a thread about non-thread starting.

Nor have I ever started a thread about what would happen if you travelled through time and invented the internet so you could one day post a thread about threads.

I dont want to talk about it.

Why buy deodorant when you can buy deodorant / antiperspirant for the same price?

That is a question that demands an answer!

Because anti-perspirant is not good for you and is in fact the work of Satan.

I've always thought:

"Jews. Stop banging on about the holocaust. There were plenty of Catholics in Poland as well, including my Great Grandfather who was handed to the Nazis by your lot in return for their lives. Which they didn't get to keep."

would be interesting, but I struggle to keep it to a reasonable length and the other half did suggest it might be slightly inflammatory, so I've always gone against it.

If you sprayed antiperspirant all over your body, you'd have white marks all over and look like a tit.
Deodorant doesn't leave white marks and can be sprayed onto clothes as well as skin.

I use smell-free antiperspirant and stick with a good aftershave smile

How come it's deodorant when odour has a U in it confused

A quick spray on to your clothes is what I meant. I do it with deodorant before I play football to try and mask the eventual smell that will encompass my attire.

Well, they haven't started threads about aqueducts, sanitation, irrigation, roads, medicine, education, health, and the wine. Then there's the baths, and public order and peace.

But I like to stand near to people, not retch when they get things from a high shelf.

But you're probably right, the missus has banned me from using an aerosol one within a kilometer of the baby sneijder, and the missus is always right. She used to be a nurse and everything.

So use deodorant or however you spell it wink
Anti=perspirant stops you perspiring and blocks your pores. Deodorant doesn't.
