Some advice please:

I'm going to a party tonight (Not a formal one) and I've just found out quite a lot of my mates are suiting up... I've only really got short sleeved shirts pressed for tonight so I was wondering how much of a heinous crime it would be to wear one under a suit bearing in mind it's not really a formal event? (I don't want to look a tt though, it's a decentish Ted Baker if that makes any difference!)

Thanks...

True, but I'm pretty much getting in from work, showering, and going! I'll sort a long sleeved out.

Thanks!

Do you work in Halfords, or some ghastly little estate agents, or something?

Not Formal...wearing a suit...

Blimey. You must live in a city, I reckon.

Suits aren't required smile I didn't think it was a good idea but I thought I'd check as I like the shirt I was going to wear tonight!

I've notived you've been in a delightfully pissy mood of late. I miss the Cara van Man of old; you don't make me laugh anymore. frown
Is middle-age really that bad? wink

And OP - no, short sleeves with a suit is just wrong.

I don't think I have ever seen someone wear a short sleeve shirt with a suit, I would imagine it looks absolutely ridiculous!

Short sleeves on a formal shirt at all is wrong in my opinion. They should be reserved for tshirts and casual shirts.

If it is a long sleeved shirt then yes, laying the sleeve flat with the seam at the bottom. If it is a short sleeved formal shirt then no - you should cut it up for rags and go and buy a long sleeved shirt.
