Sorry is this is in the wrong place - mods, feel free to move.

I want to buy something online and the seller wants me to pay via PP.com - I've never heard of it and our Trend Micro Security won't let me open it... Does anyone have any experience of it?

TIA smile

No, I'm 99.99% sure it's not PayPal. The guy (Italian) gave me a link to www.pp.com. It's not a lot of money...so I don't think it's a scam. It's also via a fairly well known forum where they all use this method to buy and sell.

Likely just abbreviating. pp.com doesn't bring up anything for me

I don't get anything on pp.com either, just a blank screen.

You sure it's not a re-direct link to nigerianscammingco.com?

Even google doesn't recognise pp.com

ETA: What is the website you are buying from?

Sending money to or logging on to?

Sounds like a scam to me.

www.pp.com or www.pp.com/logmeintoacampage.html?
Is it the classic scam where it then brings up a fake but real looking Paypal page to grab your username/password and then wavey money.

Thanks morningside - I think you might be on to it. I'll confront the seller and let you know what he says!

Sorted! For some reason the forum in question automatically changes paypal to pp. So when the seller typed www.paypal.com it came out as www.pp.com . D'oh!

Thanks for your help smile
