My Persian co-worker was just now talking about the demise of explorers Scott and Oates. When referring to Oates' frostbitten toes he said 'Oates left the tent because he knew he was a liability because he had severe frostbite in his foot-fingers.'

In Persian 'Angosht-e-pá'.

Brilliant!

It is similar in Spanish - dedo del pie (finger of the foot). I prefer the words 'tingers' if you want to merge fingers - toes smile
