Was looking at a new pair of Supra's and found this site, Compared to other places it seems cheap, I know it says sale sale etc but even still.

Googled the name but nothing has came up in terms or problems or otherwise.

Im paying by credit card so dont wan the details bumped and i end up with £1900 worth of stuff sent to Nigeria at my expense.

What you all think?

http://www.supra-uk.com/

Thanking You...

Ross.

Dodgy.

1) it's a cookie-cutter of god knows how many other sites which uses the same style, wording, layouts etc, selling various other brands (I've seen nike, adidas etc). This isn't always a bad thing but...
2) read any of the pages other than the ones with the shiney products on. English is very much their second language - Nigerian is their first.
3) no contact details on the footer, or anywhere else for that matter.
4) it's blatantly a scam site - look at the links they offer up! It's all expensive stuff that people want cheap, so if any of the stuff they're selling actually exists (unlikely) it's counterfeit. What's more, they'll also get your payment details. Win win for them.
5) All the sites they link to, or rather a lot of them have a very poor Web Of Trust rating (if you haven't got WOT on firefox or chrome get it, it's a godsend)

It's just a plug and play e-commerce site.

Almost certain they are fake. I have not bought any in a few years but they don't look right, especially the Timberland looking ones.

I know a man who runs a trainer type shop. I had never heard of the brand when I bought mine and asked about it. He explained it was a 'cool dude skate brand' and explained Mr Supra UK (Cant remember his name but I have spoke to him on an occasion) is a UK Agent and they only sell to shops.

What I am trying to say is that I think there is no Supra UK Shop.

Also - I have the 'original' Supra and its still going strong. My last pair I bought are falling to bits, despite being told they were tough as old boots, hardcore skating etc. In fact they are even called 'Tuffs'. Took them dirt buggying and they are falling to bits. I have not touched the brand in the past year or so. Also the current line up, with its golds, blues and pinks looks like they are a homage to Elton John.
That and the shoes are now associated with this new breed of 'ganster festival goers' which seem to be emerging from alleyways.

Any idea of the place to buy them then?

I bought a pair 2 years ago and they are still fine but looking for a new tidier pair, just for casual wear really. And i agree on the gold and blue's, i just want black LOL

Guess what the national language of Nigeria is.

There isn't one. Whilst English is their 'official' language, having spent rather a long time out there I can tell you it is by no means the most popular (it barely makes the top 10 iirc). If it were asian I'd have said Engrish, I didn't really fancy calling it Nigrish for obvious reasons wink

Fake gear by the looks of it:

WHOIS query shows the site is registered to: HICHINA ZHICHENG TECHNOLOGY LTD. In China.

The site has been up about 2 months.

Further digging shows the company to be registering scam sites en-masse:

If you had indeed spent any time there, you'd probably know that there's no such language as "Nigerian". English is the official language. Almost everyone in a town or city will speak English well enough to be understood by a Westerner. There is no way it is not in the top ten, probably top 5 in terms of number of speakers.

So, thanks for your personal insight, but I'm pretty sure I will have spent a longer time there than you have, and in more places.

Mind you, having looked at the Supras in question I'm still wondering why anyone would want to buy them, let alone be seen in them.

I've spent a fair whack of time there having traveled the length and breadth of it more times than I care to remember, good for you if you've got more days there than me, I can't stand the place hehe
I've already explained why I said 'Nigerian', no need to get shirty about it chap - if you know the place as well as you claim to you'll know fine well how linguistically diverse it is. Just for you I'll be sure to say Nigerian-English in future. Happy?

was looking for some old Puma's and came across a couple of sites that had similar names and layouts etc, nearly ordered but thought I would check out their shipping agent, it was chinese....for a site with 'UK' in the name? Didn't complete the order, seemed a bit dodgy to me, and related to this? maybe.
