Does anyone else have a Breedist dog? He refuses to play with any dog who is not his breed, and when a dog which is not his breed lays near him, he looks disgustedly at them and then leaves. He will however quite happily share his bed with the cats.

Does anyone else have a breedist pooch?

Mine is definately keener on other Spingers than different breeds, but even so he still ignores 90% of them!

My JR hates every dog, he can spot one half a mile away and gets himself into such a state I have to hide behind a car or tree until he calms down, 3am walks are no good either as I tend to get plod cars following me around hehe

Not breedist so much but possibly a bit sizest these days, seems to prefer playing with dogs the same size or smaller than him. I think this is due to coming off worst in rough and tumble with bigger dogs....oh and having his side ripped open by a dobermann!

If anything he is prob more breedist against his own kind! He doesn't like the possibility that they'll keep up with him when running (he's a whippet smile)

My OH's dog does not play with other dogs as it would most likely kill them. Whenever she sees other dogs she does like to go a bit mad barking and growling (she never comes off the lead and is always muzzled). She does not do it to other German Shepards though. She pays them no attention and carries on walking.

Nope my two will sniff any other dogs privates!

However they don't like brollies, hats and walking sticks, but you don't see many dogs with them ;-)

No, he is quite happy to wander about with other dogs, and the other two will go and play with any other dogs they meet, but he just refuses to play with them - he will however chase after our other mutt who is the same breed (even if it is running around because it is playing with other dogs) and will constantly try and play but not with any other breed. But he also won't play either on walk or in the garden with or dog who is not his breed, only his only breed!

Oh, he's not gay - first time he met a bh in our garden he tried to hump her - and got told off in no uncertain terms too!

I know, I got it, but I was setting up another joke - I was expecting someone to ask what dog he tried to him as he is breedist, and it was a Golden Retriever, so I was going to say even dogs think that blondes will s**g on the first date.........

I'll get me coat.

Bassethounds seem to prefer their own breed and when two Cavalier King Charles meet its tail wagging heaven.
