Someone has instructed a solicitor to send an "Administration De Bonis administratus" to my dad in regards to my late grandfathers land in Jamaica.

Ive told him under no circumstances should he sign and return the docs, as the language in the letter and form are completely unclear.

anyone able to explain this before things get expensive?

Well when someone dies their estate is administered by an executor or executors. If that person dies their successor used to be known as the 'administrator de bonis non' and any assets in the estate were 'de bonis non administratis' or assets not under administration. Not sure if that helps....

Ahhhh. The missleading wkers!

I knew it wasn't good news for us. The solicitors were using carefull positive tones to get my dad to sign the paperwork to give up his entitlement to the land left to him by grandad.

Thank you! I know exactly who instructed these solicitors, trying to enable themselves to steal the land, so something will happen soon grrr.
