WTF is this all about? Is there REALLY a need for it?

"Hands may come into contact with millions of germs every day. But have you ever thought about those germs ending up on your soap pump?"

No wonder people have no resistance to germs anymore.

Generally I only touch a soap pump RIGHT BEFORE I WASH MY HANDS so it's not really a big issue if it's not sterile.

What they haven't yet solved is:
1 - How to turn off the germy tap when you're done? (Always turned on with dirty hands, then you have to use your clean hands to shut it off again.) <- making the assumption that push taps are not installed.

2 - How to pull the germy door open? (>50% of people won't have washed properly, so safe bet the door handle to get out of the gents is filthy.)

So come on Dettol!! Fix these two problems for me!!

There should be some sort of hook at the bottom of the door so one can pull the door open with ones foot. Would beat having to wait for someone to enter so as to exit without touching the handle. hehe

Simpler than that, they should just make the bleeding door open outwards so you can push it open with your foot. Unfortunately the decision whether to make it open inwards or outwards is made by humans so you can guarantee they will do it the stupid way.

My bathroom door opens both way as the hinges are in the top and the bottom, the taps have levers too so you can turn them on and off with your wrist.

You mucky buggers.

There is a set of public loos in one of Dundee's main shopping centers that have no main door in or out, just a curved wall.

You still have to touch the tap after you've put the soap on your hands, so it's a completely stupid product.

That's why you can get motion sensitive taps..... Or as some people do, cover the tap with soap to cleanse it before turning it off.

But this is really going to kill those with OCD isn't it?!!?

This doesn't make sense as immediately after touching the 'dirty' soap pump, your hands are covered in germ-killing soap...

Don't let the truth get in the way of an advertising pitch though, eh?

At work, that would open it straight into a corridor.

But it's not just the outer door, there's the cubicle doors too.

Solution? Remove all toilet doors.
