You've ever done. Or ever bought.

Mine would be a holiday I won to St Lucia year before last.

Didn't cost me a penny, Upper Class Virgin flights and 2 weeks at the Body Holiday Club Le Sport in St Lucia in the top room. Helicopter transfers at St Lucia and Limo transfers this end.

£25k+ 2 week holiday.

Another would be a client buying me 2x £1000 raffle tickets at a charity event, didn't win anything.

Or perhaps a good friend of mine flying Westlife over in his private jet for his Mum's 50th - they performed at the party.

Doesn't need to be something you spent money on, maybe something you attended?

Nothing too extravagent, but pretty nice, were:

1. 'Day away' weekend trip to Nice, staying in a swanky hotel, courtesy of work. Biggest hotel room I've ever seen, let alone stayed in.

2. Surprise long weekend away for my then girlfriends 30th birthday. Didn't tell her where we were going other than to bring her passport and clothing for a similar climate to UK. Got to Leeds airport and boarded a flight to Amsterdam. She seemed pretty happy with my choice...only to land in Amsterdam and starting following the 'Transfers' sign...and onwards to New York.

3. A 5 hour flight around the UK in one of the Royal Family jets, with just my mate (and a butler) for company. I've never had so much leg room on an aircraft.

4. Trip to St.James' palace to collect my Gold D of E award (unfortunatley had to receive it from some racist Greek bloke).

5. Month long road trip from East to West coast USA, with a bunch of friend following a 3-month stint working in a summer camp. Total of 6500 miles driven. Don't think I will ever top this holiday (and it was done on a very tight budget), I was 21 at the time and it was freedom like I'd never experienced. Awesome.

I have a thing for watches, nothing too expensive (yet) but a couple of nice pieces for nice evenings out.

Watches, my biggest extravagance too actually. Abu Dhabi had some amazing watches!

Some for only £20

1995, trip to New York for a dinner on a Friday night. Got a freebie two nights in the top suite at The Carlyle Hotel, courtesy of the then general manager who wished to woo my pal for business. Unfortunately he got the bedroom in which Princess Diana had slept the night before we arrived. Also the suite favoured by Maggie Thatcher. John Lennon allegedly wrote Imagine at the grand piano in that very suite. Tidy!

Last year I decided to buy a watch but couldn't find exactly what I wanted so spent the money on a limited edition Visconti pen. Can't barely think about what it cost but use it everyday and love it!

A flew to NY on Concorde (via a mate who works with BA). Cost £900 for the tickets.
I took my Mrs to the Ice Hotel for a night when we were courting, in fact last night I was looking through my diary for our first year together, we went away to a different country every weekend. None of that now.
The Mrs flew to Australia for a 40th birthday party, stayed less than 7 days.

I also bought my parents a house.

Any of those count?

No - police never got back to me, chased it and chased it. I then gave up.

Memmber of the Air Training Corps when I was younger. Had our annual camp down at RAF Northolt near London, which is where the Royal Flight was stationed. Was quite a common occurance to get 'experience flights' on board various aircraft. They took this aircraft out for two reasons - to 'taxi' some fast jet pilots up to a base in Scotland, and also a test flight to 50'000 feet on the way back to test a new coating of paint.

Also had a flight in a VC10, and got to witness a couple of Tornado's re-fuelling with us mid-flight (I was excitedly waving to the pilot who was about 15 metres away!)

Took my parents to Petrus a couple of years ago to celebrate their birthdays. Not the biggest outlay of money, but for what it was it was extravagent.

Completed a project on time and in budget when both were completely unreasonable so the boss gave me a trip to any health spa in a suite with unlimited massages etc. That was nice.. smile

Other than that, a trip to NYC staying at the Waldorf this year for my 30th and me deciding last minute to go off to the Maldives on my own for a break.

Very much appreciated all of those experiences and often day dream about going back to the Maldives when I'm doing guard duty on the night shift at the 5-7am stint (military types will get this bit).

Mine is poor, booked a holiday to Newquay couldn't be arsed to drive down so booked the flights the day before and flew. In all honesty it probably worked out cheaper but felt a bit daft seeing as everyone else we knew was driving down.
