I've been trying to track down a headlight for my wife's old Audi Coupe 20V. Found one from a 'business' seller on Ebay, bought it and it arrived this morning. Wrapped in a single layer of thin bubble wrap and packed in a shoebox. I thought things were looking bad when I shook the box and it rattled... Coming soon after the injection pump wrapped in an old shirt and stuffed in a large Jiffy Bag (someone dropped it en route and it didn't bounce), I'm starting to get a bit fed up with mail order amateurs. Grrr...

True, but I don't want the money, I want a non-broken headlight for my wife's car. If I preferred the money to the headlight I wouldn't have bought the headlight...

I always used to insist on collection only for headlamps. They are too each to break, be it the glass, the lugs or the internals, to be worth the risk.

I've received numerous headlamps, tail lights etc in the post, i've also posted numerous that i've sold and not a single one has been broken. If people cant take the time to pack stuff properly then they shouldn't offer delivery.

wanted this:

a fairly rare part for my car:

got this:

The part was a bakelite cowl for my steering wheel, sadly it was only packed in paper....!! The seller was very upstanding, giving a full refund, but I am still out the part...

Yesterday I saw a UPS big brown van being driven very enthusiastically over Saddleworth - he really was lobbing it around the bends - I had to pick my moment to pass with some care and I was on a 1000cc sportsbike. I remember thinking at the time that if there are any fragile items in the back they would be absolutely fked.

For the record UPS doesn't have stuff randomly chucked in the back of the van, they are normally securely stacked on racking inside. I drive in a spirited fashion and rarely does anything fall off the shelves.
