It's a lovely evening, and, with the birth of a friends baby boy, the perfect opportunity to attend a BBQ- with trepidation for old times sakes.
A good group of friends, all together to celebrate a birth.
Great times. Good food, free flowing ale- including some of my generously donated hone brew- and, with the possible exception of a bloke called col, a good group of friends friends.
When it comes to have a cuddle with little Ben, the proud new parents are,of course, none too keen to have smokers around. No problems, very sensible. So, all smokers extinguish ciggies in the appropriate ashtray, have a cuddle of the wee lad, and move on to matters of burnt meat.
I too have a cuddle, cute baby to be honest, nicely wrapped in a blanket to keep him warm- and looking suprusibgly like the baby Jesus as depicted at various nativities.
Still, it's all good.
The proud new parent then arrives with a couple of bottles of fizz, and some bucks fizz, strangely for the drivers- I was led to believe it is still an alcolohic drink, but there we are.
Sadly, the fizz gets drunk very quickly, and sadder still, before the proud new parent arrives to propose a toast to his first born.
Oh well, we can still toast with, erm, whatever is at hand.
So, here's to parenthood, and to the new arrival.
Drink.
Ponder why drink is lumpy.
Choke.
Vomit.
Vomit through nose and mouth similtaneously.
Choke.
Wipe eyes.

Wipe eyes again, hoping what I saw after the first wipe may gave been blurred through tears.

Bugger.

It wasn't.

I have indeed vomited upon the table, the salad, the mother, and the baby.

All because someone used my beer can as an ashtray.

I doubt I will be attending the christening to be honest.

Nice. But yes, that would be the end of the party.

I could have used the old Craig Breedlove- for my next trick, I shall set myself afire, but been there, done that.

My encore was profuse apology, a vague attempt at cleaning up, and sending mrs emsman to retrieve jacket as quickly as possible.
Stuck right in the back of my throat- right on the sick trigger, didn't stand a chance

hehe never drank an "ashtray" before!

I wouldn't worry to much Op the parents will have to get used to being vomited on any way, you've just given them a taste of things to come!

It sounds more likely to have been a toxic batch of homebrew.

Niki Lauda surely? Never mind, the BBQ season has a couple of months to go; still time to earn that 'Simon Weston Lifetime Achievement Award for services to Immolation'.hehe

More believable than some of Harry Flashman's exploits! wink

I'm with you, well written and entertaining but bullst all the same. If all your stories were true then Frank Spencer must have come to life and cranked up the disaster level by about 10 Million.

Let's consult the give-a-st-o-meter.....

And the results are......

Yeah, sadly I vomited.

Luckily it wasn't near a caravan
