Banned from an army camp, WTF?!!!
Discussion
My OH is in the army, where you'd think a few pops and bangs from a TVR exhaust system would be fairly insignificant compared to the major-league boys' toys within the camp. Wrong. Went to visit him at work recently and had to oblige the guys at the gate with a little blip of the throttle. Just a small one, and only the one. It was early evening - I could understand people being pissed off if it happened in the middle of the night - but it was about 7.30. I have now been banned from an army camp, or rather my TVR has been banned. WTF??
So come on, 'fess up, who's been banned from somewhere really daft, and why?

It seems a bit "killjoy" at that time.
Absolutely! Daft sod. It's not as if its a bloody nursing home, is it. Constant noise.
You'd be surprised what can cause problems. On one base I was at we weren't allowed to do aircraft engine runs, (to test engines), at constantly shifting times in the evening because of the noise, normally around 9pm until the morning - but if there was as officers 'do' on we'd get banned from doing it from about 6pm. Funnily enough if there was a junior ranks or NCOs 'do' on no such bans were imposed.
If you were by the gate then presumably you were by the guardhouse and they may have been narked at you disturbing the off-shift armed guards in their downtime, but shift handover used to be around 7pm so maybe not.
You probably just got up the nose of a very junior or very senior officer.
I was banned from using tools in metalwork and woodwork at school because they didn't want me to handle sharp implements... because my older brother had cut the top of one if his fingers off on a bandsaw, (maybe they thought it was hereditry).
Edit - ah a Sergeant Major, unfortunately what they says goes
