Advice needed please.

Firstly can anyone recommend a tailor in or near Brentwood? I have a few trousers that need taking up and a Dinner Jacket that I'd like altering.

Secondly I'm going to a wedding soon and (long story) I'm required to wear a hat.
Now I realise I'm going to look a prize fool etc but it would please the Bride and her mother tremendously if I can find one to wear (I fully intend to ditch it after the first photo and obviously I won't need it in church).

Is there anything vaguely suitable/acceptable that I can wear?
I was thinking along the lines of a smart trilby. I'm not wearing a morning suit unfortunately, so a Top hat is out.

Thanks

P.s. I realise my English is poor, please try not to dissect it too much wink.

There's a tailor in Shenfield I can recommend but cannot for the life of me remember their name. They're on the High Street a few shops down from the 7-11 of whatever it is these days. Roomes in Upminster will do you alterations as well.

As for hats....

You've either a head for hats or you haven't. Tops look OK (ish) with full tails. Indiana Jones style probably the coolest but not very "wedding".

(And your English is a lot better than most round these parts!)

Thanks.

I'm not sure where the 7-11 is not been long down here and only know of the Coop and Tesco's in Shenfield. But i'll have nosey on my way back from work.

Edited to add. Is it Sartoria? Had a stalk round on google maps and this is the only thing i can see which looks like it might be a Tailors.

Cheers. Do you If they're any good?
Also on the hat it's more a question of the type rather where from.

Tell us the story, it might help in recommending the style of hat you should wear.

Anthonys are top notch, got my Groom and Ushers suits from there. He should have all sorts, call first: 01277 651140

The tailor I've used for 10 years for alterations/mends and never had a problem

Basically it started as a joke.

I'm close to the bride and that friendship group consists mainly of girls apart from another guy who has got out of it by serving in Afgan. So the running Joke was that i could wear a hat so I wouldn't feel left out (as obv all the girls will have hats of some description).
However because i didn't immediately quash any such idea it's now half expected by everyone including the mother of the bride. Now it won't make or break the day by any means but I know it'd make her smile if I had something even if it was just for one photo.

The other option is just buy some ridiculous hair piece/fascinator/hat

Hmmmmmmmm hadn't thought of that really..... Already have one but i'd always thought (based on absolutely nothing) that it was only appropriate to wear these with Chino's / a linen suit i.e a more casual look. Not sure it'd work with a suit and tie, however i'll try it out.

Good idea.

Nothing in Shenfield mate, there is a expensive clothes shop, Visage i think but not a tailors. I seem to remember Brentwood being devoid of clothes shops... a next is all i remember.
