It has been announced recently that all MS Respite care centres operated by the MS Society face closure. This will be so bad for so many people affected by MS. These are Specialst MS respite care centres the only ones in the country and all three face closure. please sign petition to stop this !

I am not a directly involved person, but I do know what a necessary service this is to MS sufferers and their families.
Added to this, the majority of funds were raised locally to provide the buildings and service and the revenue on the sale of properties will undoubtedly 'dissappear' into the 'pot'

I agree with this - MS is very tough on carers who are often loved ones.

However, they really need some kind of online petition rather than a download/print/sign/post frown

That is bad news! I think you need to get some celebs behind the campaign, namely those who have relatives suffering from MS.

A lot of this kind of thing to come I think.

I'm personally involved with two causes - community rugby and childrens' hospices - both of which mean a lot to the kids and their families, yet they've had all Lottery funding withdrawn in favour of the 2012 Olympics.

All a bit remote when you can see on the ground that £100 makes a difference. frown
