As far as the jobs go. Keep trying. Its hard at the moment and you are not alone in getting fed up with it. Be it 1 month, 6 months, 1 year whatever, you will get another job and get back on track again... its just this period of discomfort that you have to cope with.

And as for the other people giving you coffee beans on the motorway etc. Don't give a st. Who the fk gets worked up at someone going faster than them? Whoever it is, its not worth caring about. Do you care about the opinion of a chav on the street corner? Presumeably no, so don't care about what those people think either.

And the bloke in the car park, he just sounds like a dick. There are a few of them around. Just gotta ignore them safe in the knowledge that in the grand scheme of things, you are in a better position in life than them.

Stop feeling sorry for yourself.
You have job prospects.
You have a roof over your head.
You are mobile.
I assume (as you don't moan about it wink ) you are healthy.

There are plenty of people worse off than you.
Why do you give a st that sommeone jesticulated at you? Jesticulate back or better yet, ignore them.

Some ideas to be getting on with there.

Just one of those days/weeks/months. Things will pick up again. Got a little one so you have to give youself a kick up the backside and never let the f***ers get you down. Life is far to short to let depression get the better of you.
As for the moron at the shops, well life would be boring without the village idiot getting out for a little while, maybe his carer didn't notice him wandering off. No doubt he's safe back in the special ward by now!! Chin up. wink

Just trying to inject some optimism and happiness.

I'm sorry I found your post a bit confusing to read...try to focus on what you do have going right, sounds like a broken record but hearing about people suffering in other parts of the world puts things into context every time I start worrying about my own problems. I was in Kyrgyzstan (beautiful unspoilt country) less than a year ago and now 2000+ people there have been murdered as part of 'ethnic cleansing' and thousands more have lost everything...that breaks my heart more than any of my own shortfalls.

Chin up. This sort of stuff happens to us all.

But don't pay any attention to the coffee-beans loser. About 40% of the population are so dim we'd be better of using them as fuel. Don't let them get to you.

I really feel for you. It is tough but you WILL COME THROUGH IT and get a decent job. It is little consolation, but by your very nature you are better off than many. Keep looking, apply, sell yourself and be positive.

Call in EVERY contact you have to see if they know someone who knows some one.

Come on, do it for your son, you can.

The issue over your so called friend not writing a reference may not be his fault. I have been in the same position. References can be presented in law where there is evidence of false reference, i.e. putting in a good word to help a friend into a new job. Contractors are not employed by the business they work for; they are employed by their Agency.

Your friend could write a personal reference commenting on your ethical values and attitude towards other people, that sort of thing. Within this reference your friend could then refer to you working under his supervision but he would not be able to comment on your work performance.

It'll get better with time, just hang in there.

A lot of competition job-wise as you're probably aware.

When you say "Had enough...." do you mean to say you want to end it all, take your own life?

Well. In my experience anyone who threatens to kill themselves, or actually self harm, are usually after sympathy/attention/advice and will never actually go through with it.
People who commit suicide just do it. No talk, no drama. frown

So. Stop being a winging tt and act like an adult. Your child will pick up on your self defeating attitude and be effected in ways I can't explain (as I'm not a phycologist) and it'll be something else you can winge about in 7 years when he/she in a druggy/pregnant or both. nono

Pull your trousers up, chin up and go and make your child and yourself proud. thumbup

It's important to distinguish between things that affect you and things that don't affect you.

Your "friend's" opinion does matter because it affects your chances of getting a job.

The opinions of strangers on the motorway or in the supermarket are utterly irrelevant. They cannot have any tangible effect on your life - so don't let them get to you. You should treat these people with the contempt that they deserve.
