I spotted this chunk of aggregate in the road earlier along with some smaller cousins so I stopped to clear it out of the way. Country lane, right in the middle of the lane, about a foot along its longest side and maybe 4 inches thick. Quite a few other pieces along the same short stretch so probably a skip lorry with poor load covering or similar.

well, I could have described it, but a picture paints a thousand words, or so Aristotelis Savalas would have us believe.

I'll never look at a piece of rock in some grass in the same way again. This story has moved me on a deeper level. wink

I had a similar experience driving through Arkansas. Thankfully someone else had noticed it and put warning signs up on the road into the capital. Much safer than getting out of your car onto a busy road.

I also did a rock-related good deed. I spotted Percy (the black rock) years ago and kept him ever since. A few weeks ago I noticed Gemma (the brown rock) sunbathing on a beach and so took her home to met Percy. They have a lot in common and got on great. I can't wait for the kids.

Send it an email.

Jokes apart, I'm into moving crap littering the highway if I see a potential issue. We're definitely in the minority these days.
