Supermarket today, and saw a John Hughes DVD set. Ferris, Pretty in pink and, most importantly, Some kind of wonderful for 7 quid.

20+ years on, it won't live up, right?

Except it does. The cheese factor is undiminished, but the soundtrack, the cast, the memories...still fabulous.

Much like when I bought a 205 GTI as a runaround and was reminded after 15 years how great it was.

What have you rediscovered and it was all it ever was?

Most recent- thanks to emsman jnr- Thunderbirds (the kids programme, not the slightly older kids drink!)
Perfect TV for boys-and it's still as good as when I watched it as a lad.

Other than that- bigtrak,re-living my youth.
Finally, having a puppy around the house. It's been a while since I last had a dog, and forgotton just how much happiness they bring.

The Sure Thing.

An early John Cusack road/college film.

It was a favourite of mine in the early 90's as a teenager, although its actually a 1985 film.

Saw it again recently and it still works. A bit differently, but works all the same.

Would love to find "Better Off Dead" on DVD. Or "They Live".

"Le Grand Bleu" never seems to age.

If so, I'm sure I have it on video- should you still have a video player

Alison: What are you doing?
Gib: I'm going to bed.
Alison: Not with me you're not.
Gib: I'm not going to bed with you, I'm going to bed in a bed you happen to be in also.

Over the last six months I've lost 30lbs in weight, and rediscovered my dick! I knew it was there, but it has been so long since I've seen it I basically forgot about it. It still works though. biggrin

...Mr Herald, would you tell the court, if it is true that on the 17th of June, you did wilfully and fixedly look down at your genitalia and perform the well known dance 'the twist' in a state of total undress?

One would be a fool to argue.

Very kind, but no, I gave that to a friend's child some years ago. Good movie though, as I remember.

Gib: What the hell's wrong with being stupid once in awhile? Does everything you do always have to be sensible? Haven't you ever thrown waterballoons off a roof? When you were a little kid didn't you ever sprinkle Ivory flakes on the living room floor 'cause you wanted to make it snow in July? Didn't you ever get really stfaced and maybe, make a complete fool of yourself and still have an excellent time?

Airplane, genius film. Mind you, it's older than me by some way!
