use the term 'pido' in a marketing campaign for a childrens' product:

I keep hearing this ad on TV and everytime all I hear is a bloke repeatedly saying 'peado' and when I look up there are images of children running around on the beach.

It is a most odd choice of brand name.

Ra (ancient Egyptian sun god) Peado (Gary Glitter).

If your mind goes to the word paedo whilst watching a product that is for kids, then I would worry about you.

The BiB will be with you shortly.

Its called Rapido because it can be applied quickly, surely. It strikes me as slightly odd that you would interpret it the way you did. But then I haven't seen the ad.

Thats like saying you want to become a murderer if you kill someone in a game. It's all about how your mind works. Picking an odd word out of a longer word is a bit daft, but look at what the PH swear filters do:

If you are not really paying attention to the advert, the emphasis is definitely on the Pido part.

Thank you. Invariably I am in the room reading a book and suddenly pick up on the TV shouting 'pido' then I look up and see kids on the screen. It just surprises me that in this overly sensitive world that we appear to live in that no focus group within the firm raised this element. biggrin

Same pronunciation as Antoine de Caunes music show then?

Still, as someone who suggested Speedophile as the name for a speed dating agency, I'm probably not best placed to judge these things.
