Isn't it all s
t?
I watched part of the first ever episode, and that was it.
A couple woke up late one evening, and couldn't find their daughter. They searched the house, found nothing, so phoned the parents of all her friends to ask what they knew. Still no joy, so the bloke decided (for some reason) to go into the office (maybe he thought she was moonlighting as a cleaner?), so he got dressed, got in the car and drove to the office. When he was nearly there, he talked to his wife on his mobile phone. How much time had elapsed? 18 minutes.

You know it's a TV show, right?

In this week's episode, Jack Bauer uses Google and Wikipedia to find a highly dangerous terrorist cell ...

I just want to be able to fire four or five shots inside two seconds with a bolt action rifle...
...and maybe have Chloe on my IT team just for the shear techno-mental-comedic effect.

24 is second only to Star Trek in techno-babble, deus ex machina plot points. Still quite like it, though.

Oh - I would also like to have Jack's "healing powers".

it is well known in IT circles for its hilariously cobbled-together misuse of terminology. All the words and terms are correct, just used completely out of context. Like someone gave them a list of 30 technological words and told them to make sentences with them that sound plausible, basically.

This.Akin to a mechanic telling someone at a service that they had to lube the manifold and grease the brakes.
