Hi, i'm new to the forums but have been a lurker for a while and thought this could make a (semi) interesting first post/topic.

Apologies in advance if this has been done before but i could not find anything like this already.

Why did you sign up to PistonHeads forums?

My Reason:
I am very much 'into' cars, I enjoy most aspects of motoring particularly performance and motorsport cars, and I believed this place to be a potentially rich environment to 'meet' other like minded enthusiasts.

How about you?

Yes, it has been asked a few times before, usually by people doing research for their own forum they are developing ...

The pay per post scheme appealed. So far I've earned enough for a fun sized Mars Bar.

I can imagine why some of the 'long termers' on here joined (started off as a forum for TVR owners/Fans right?) I'm more interested in the 'new comers' though.

I ask this because I have read many an article/forum topic and am always surprised by some of the responses. A lot of them seem very anti car enthusiast. Also a lot of people seem to have (what I personally would consider) a not very car enthusiast kind of car, the kind of vehicle that could be summed up as 'white goods'.

BTW not trying to instigate a 'what constitues a PH car' kind of thread. Just genuinely curious as to what draws people onto a big car related forum.
